The MET’s new production of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde with Lise Davidsen and Michael Spyres in the title roles is an unmissable highlight of the season. Our early spring program will also embrace a pair of acclaimed sopranos in their favorite Verdi and Puccini portrayals: Sonya Yoncheva in Madama Butterfly and Lisette Oropesa in La Traviata, two of the MET’s most rewarding stagings which honor the composers’ intentions. Our 4th performance will be a sold-out concert by the New York Philharmonic with Artistic Director Designate Gustav Dudamel on the podium for the world premiere of David Lang’s The Wealth of Nations.

Accommodations for four nights will be at the private New York Athletic Club (NYAC), beautifully located on Central Park South (59th street at 7th Avenue). The NYAC offers pleasant, comfortable bedrooms and many advantages of a large, private club: a spacious dining room overlooking Central Park from the 11th floor; friendly bars on the main floor and in the second-floor Tap Room which serves convenient meals; and the best-equipped large swimming-pool in the city.

For all of our New York Tours, a pre-opera dinner will be enjoyed on the first evening, which will provide an opportunity to meet other members of the Tour. A second lunch or dinner will be planned on our last day, near the NYAC or convenient to Lincoln Center. We will also include a Metropolitan Museum Pass to be used at your own leisure. Transfers are included for all of our performances at Lincoln Center. (We always walk the short distance to Carnegie Hall, the Rose Theatre at Columbus Circle, the City Center, and any Broadway show at Studio 54.)
